10cunningham heritage*, diamond tooth.* = screenplay based on the Doyle canon. Sheldon Reynolds gets major credit for this fine series. He is always credited as Producer and sometimes also the Director and/or Writer. Charles Early (amoung others) are sometimes instead an episode's author. Strongest point: Most of the scripts are completely original, and all are very good!

While much has been said of Mr. Howard's poor portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, I beg to differ. Yes, he is sometimes overshadowed by the performance of Mr. Crawford as Watson. However he still makes a credible Sherlock. The cost/value is a real plus and makes for many entertaining evenings.

This series is fun and exciting. Very orginal scripts, but there are at least two stories based on the orginal stories - The Red Head League and the meeting of Holmes and Watson, but I can't remember the title of that episode.Overall, a very entertaining series, not as good as the Brett series or the Rathbone/Bruce movies, but it is well worth your time to buy it, I really like the Watson character and Lestrade, but Howald as Holmes takes a little to get use to.

This is a great collection of the tv show-Sherlock Holmes(1954-1955) with Ronald Howard,H. Marion Crawford andArchie Duncan(Holmes-Watson and Lestrade). While there were only 39 episodes of the show, they are very entertaining and and masterfully directed and produced. To get so much information about Mr.Holmes and his friends in one episode lasting for 27 minutes is amazing in itself. Whatever the price this is by far the best tv show regarding the detective, and being in all black and white actually captures the mood of his times.This collection inspired me to look for the other 19 episodes,and i have 37 of them now ready to get number 38 soon.Folksyou will not go wrong on getting this collection-an A+ all the way!

Rereading my original review I realized it was not complete. There are 10 videos, each with two half-hour stories. This is a small price to pay for 20 vintage Sherlock adventures.
